I have been working with Papier Maché since mid 1990's, and I still enjoy its endless creative possibilities. It looks great whether the style is fun and kitsch, rough or refined. The structure of the material gives each item its unique character.
Besides, Papier Maché is cheap to work with. The principal material is recycled newspaper and cardboard. To get started you only need to buy some wallpaper glue, white glue and acrylic paint.
There are no rules of "how to do" papier mâché, only some useful guidelines. In my opinion, the best teacher is trial and error. That is how you create your own personal style. |
